It doesn't look like having insurance provides much protection in this regard. Not much difference between 20 and 25 percent.

It does if you are in that 5%. That is equal to 1 out of 20. If it is published it must be true, but I find it hard to believe that 1/4 or 1/5 of people with cancer become financially destitute. Of course the fact it was linked back to the NYTImes who have demonstrated extreme bias makes me question its validity further.
