As much as 50% of all health care expenditures are actually related to a very select few diseases, diabetes among them. This has something to do with the amount of corn, corn syrup, fats and processed foods in our diets. It also has to do with how much time we spend in sedentary jobs, our stress levels and the coping skills people don't learn in our sub-standard and degrading educational system.

Universal health care sounds like the solution that everyone wants. But to a certain degree, it's just another band-aid that cannot solve the whole integrated complex of factors that are conspiring to create more and mnore expensive disease in this culture than anywhere else in the world.
