Supporting McCain because he is a Republican if we disagree with his positions makes us just lusters of power. Ultimately the reason Clinton was not removed from office came down to democrats lust for power and knowing that removing him from office would instantly taint the party and lose them power. In the minds of honest people everywhere, every Senator that voted to legalize perjury is despised. They are despised not for doing an expedient thing, but for compromising honor for the lust of power.

As far as judicial appointments, you can bet Souter would retire if McCain were elected so he could be replaced with another liberal Republican appointee.
