Sully, Do plan on making your next PCH trip north of San Francisco. On one side of the road, you have the redwood forests; on the other side, the ocean. Tasty, reasonably priced food can be found in the local cafes. Some of the offshoot
roads lead to relatively obscure but excellent wineries, replete with tours and
wine tastings. Try to go in April or May when the native ferns and wild flowers are
in full bloom. - Holly

Sully- -The highway she is referring to is Highway 1. We can still get raim April. Highway 1 floods. I suggest you not try to cross one of those "shallow" flooded areas.

Also, in spite of the mad ravings of Oregonians, the CA portion of Highway 1 is by far the prettiest. But then if you know Oregon, you know how starved they are for any beauty. :-)
