I agree with you on the timing of Solar being pushed out a bit.

The HB that builds smaller, cheaper, and concentrates primarily on greener features while encompassing almost zero maintenance will stand out and recover the quickest.
That's where the demand will be, particularly with environmentally conscious boomers heading into retirement.
I think it's been covered here before, but parts of Europe are light years ahead of us.

I'm thinking about it and will be looking for opportunities.

Those st reports will not matter much if at all. The cost savings are going to be so great, with oil still in the stratosphere. Nanosolar is the future and my focus. Dems will definitly issue tax credits for solar in due time.

You will start to see solar trading less and less on the price of oil going forward. Upwards moves in crude will jsut be a added bonus.

>>Did you see the EIA report just out? Refinery utilization down but big builds in everything: Oil, Gasoline, distillates.<<

They've had big draws (mostly unexpected) for most of the last 2 months. 1 week is just 1 week, I don't see habits changing much AFA energy use goes. Prices just aren't high enough. I like the solars long-term, and also uranium (CCJ). I think we'll be on a crash building program for both solar and nuclear beginning some point in the next presidential administration. What I'm really waiting for is plays on solar thermal, an Ausra IPO would definitely be worth a play.

Disclosure: LONG shares of SPWR.

we should buy Ag land with mineral rights plus prebuilt derriks on it. but we have to wait a few years.

then we can produce bio fuel, fuel for bios (food i think it's called), oil when needed and if we are really good we can build it by that new clean fuel coal plant in illinois (that just got budget cut) and that's by a shooting range so we can have a hotel.

So-

Buy the ag land, plant corn, build a hotel, drill for oil, build some commercial space to sell to the people that go to the shooting range and that will work on the defunct coal plant.

Then when oil goes back up in price, we can produce oil and get the government grants for bio fuel. Maybe George Clooney will buy a square foot of our property (like preordering a Tesla Car) to legetimize investing in "green fuel"

Baby, I'm going places. Mattoon appearently.
