My mind is not closed, but it is closed to arbitrary assumptions of self-interested organizations with no basis in anything. All cults are built on assumptions that are 100% arbitrary. They are = to saying there is an all knowing, invisible guy named Habib made of particles shaped like slurpees. Unless you are saying that I should keep my mind open to that assumption then we are not in disagreement.

You are saying that infinite unknown = infinite possibilities if I read you correctly. I am saying that arbitrary possibilities created by the human mind are also infinite though they do not have to intersect with the set of infinite possibilities that are "reality", whether measurable/visible or not, and it is likely that they do not intersect, especially the ones originating from a non-scientific basis.

It is not preposterous to assume there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, I believe there is, it is something that happens every once in a while here and there. What is preposterous are the assumptions made about it and characteristics given it by humans, which are completely arbitrary, including every "religious" idea ever dreamed up by any human since the beginning of humans.
