Yep, could be 20K. I'd say a lot of manipulation in the
futures. The Pig has been extremely heavy from the start -
err. 2000. There was a real bubble before 2000. The one
from 2004 onward, I think, was unreal.

CB action lately appears to be coordinated: while the
Fed is dropping rates, the ECB is injecting liquidity hand
over fist.
The intentions are good - put a patch on the credit mess,
but don't let the buck crater due to lower rates. However,
the consequences of this action could
be devastating to 500 Trillion plus notional derivatives
market, since this is an anti carry trade setup - the
carry trade would just sell the buck now, automatically.
That pyramid is shaking.

Here's what bothers me about gold. "Those who control, lie, cheat, and steal" (you know to whom I'm referring) are not going to let gold muck up their master plan to debase the currency and get rid of trillions of debt. Zum Beispiel: I have gobs of pennies; currently I can't melt them down for their copper content and sell them for more than they're worth as pennies, because it's "illegal". Gold was illegal to own in this country once before and confiscated, it's not too much of a leap to think it could happen again. You can tender your carefully accumulated American Gold Eagles for "legal" currency, though, I'm certain they'll let you do that. In other words, any substitute of hard money of any kind in place of a constantly depreciating dollar will be fought with everything in their arsenal by those set monetary policy in this country. "All transactions must be in American dollars" - all other forms of money - gold, Euros, etc. will not be acceptable for debt or other transactions. Then where are you? In an underground market, for sure and that has it's own set of problems. What goes up must come down. Gold is long overdue, IMHO...
