Comrade "Pooty-Pute" sure has his undies in a bunch over those missile bases. I'm kind of surprised that Bush is pushing this, given the high political cost.

I think Obama would cancel the program, and Clinton would delay it. No idea what McCain would do.

US anti-missle bases in Eastern Europe

I could never figure out why we are doing it. Is it that the Russians never stopped being an active strategic threat, or is it that our Generals and politicians were never able to stop fighting the (last) cold war?

I'd think that if China will continue to be such a growing economic and military power, that may at some point put us and Russia on the same side of the potential future divide. The same applies in case more Muslim nations will fall under control of radicals. If so, then why are we spending so much energy and treasure on antagonizing the Russians?
