President Bush has said he will veto any such bill that reaches his desk without the grant of immunity.

Obviously, immunity is needed only if they went out of the way to spy on innocent people, political rivals etc. There is no need for immunity if the people being spied on were Al Qaeda suspects.

The Regressives who don't get this are either stupid, or are so deeply embedded in Dumbyasshole's crap that they are unable to see anything.

Immunity for Telecomms prohibits charges being filed that could cripple the industry and our economy even if they are frivolous partisan exercises forewarded by corrupt politicos. You are presuming a crime has been committed by some or all Telecoms that should be charged. Like what? What do you think has happened to the constitution?
