If you don't raise taxes on everyone, you don't make everyone a "fiscal conservative."

Remember, though, that this is just to eliminate the deficit. You can then eliminate whatever tax breaks the rich enjoy so that we can pay for universal health care, alternative energy research, bridges to nowhere, etc.

And we can do all this before we even ask our elected officials to examine where the current money is going (and demand more than just a link to a government website).

So you are saying that we have a reverse progressive tax now? So a flat tax would be an improvement?

So exempt the first 30k form any taxes. That will help the guy with 4 kids making under 50k.
