>>I really liked several of the songs- better than I liked the Beatles versions. Of course I never liked the Beatles- so almost any other singer is an improvement for me.<<

Syb -

If that's so, then we have no basis for any meaningful dialogue on this subject. The Beatles were a monumentally important part of my life starting at around age ten. To this day, I consider them one of the greatest bands ever, and certainly one of the most important. They not only changed popular music completely, but did so more than once.

I will, henceforth, consider all opinions you may have about music to be suspect. I can still like you as a friend, but only because I'm so forgiving and spiritually evolved. ;-)

PS: Come to think of it, if you like the songs themselves, then I guess you aren't completely hopeless. Recognizing The Beatles' songwriting talent is something.

PPS: I hated Moulin Rouge, too. ;-)

Of course I never liked the Beatles-

Me neither...

I know its almost sacrilege to say so, but they never did it for me.

I love their songs, but cannot stand the tonal qualities of their voices.

I was more of a Blood Sweat and Tears, and Emerson Lake and Palmer fan back then.
