Do have a formaldehyde story. About 15 years ago we moved into a house that seemed perfect. A beautiful place in the walkout basement for a music room for moi and small gatherings.

The house had been tested for radon for everything before we moved in-----seemed perfect.

When I would go to the music room I would get dizzy, nauseous and couldn't breath. So to allergists-----found I was allergic to formaldehyde.

Took awhile to put 2 and 2 together. There was a fake wood wall that separated the music area from a storage area. As time went on I finallyl decided to examine the artifical wood panel-------installed when the house was built in the 1980's. It had Formaldehyde written on back side of paneling.

Talked to doctor and zoning people-------found that formaldehde was banned in new construction but after my house was built.

Short story------had the wall ripped out and replaced and the symptoms disappeared-------but it took almost a year to figure out the problem.

There is no doubt that formaldehyde is toxic-------particularly to people with sensitive immune sytems.

It is unfortunate that the Fema trailers are built containing formaldehyde. I can empathize with the people who are having constant formaldehyde exposure symptoms------truly debilitating.

I don't have anything to add to the political side of this----what I would say is go back to logging and planting trees.
That's what my ancestors did and it worked just fine.

It's amazing how fast trees grow.
