I'm really pragmatic about schools here. I think you have a background in education? Imho we have great schools in california almost everywhere that are underfunded by about 50%. For the super wealthy areas like palo alto the parents basically partially fund the schools, by contributing their time and sometimes other resources, thus allowing the teachers to perform at an optimum level. In my opinion that is about the only difference between PA schools and the more mid level schools in San Jose. Then there is the east side and they have other challenges. The schools around me are terrific.
