There are many points about evolution where we lack solid data or understanding. There are many points about many other solid theories where we lack data or understanding. That doesn't mean all ideas that have areas where we lack data or understanding are equivalent. In this case the difference is theories that the earth is warming and will continue to warm to the point that there will be major problems for humans, is much less solidly supported than evolution. If you accept evolution as solid science despite the thinly covered areas, and the wholes, than the analogy with global warming doesn't hold very well.

Going outside the analogy another difference is that no one is asking us to incur massive costs from restructuring the world economy because of theories about biological evolution.

LOL! Would you rather believe that man was a "descended from the Gods" - or that the burning of carbon based materials is the reason that humans evolved (the niche humans occupy in nature)?
