I notice you have no problem making such statements yourself without backing them up, but you always challenge other people if they don't provide evidence.

Good. I'm glad you notice something I said.

Fine I'll rephrase, you have presented no evidence that indicates the vast majority of public schools are better than the vast majority of private schools.

How can private schools be better than public schools when in most instances they have the easiest kids to educate and less input than public schools. Most private schools originate through a religion or a private institution. Often, funding is very limited and dependent on the generosity of the parents. There is no where near the diversity that exists in public schools.

Like many things in this country, private schools became a fad....a status symbol...a way to avoid the mixing of the races. However, parents are starting to realize they are shelling a lot of money and their kids are not necessarily getting the best education. Here in Seattle they are starting to see more and more private school kids switch over to public schools? I hope that becomes the newest fad.

Having said all that, conventional wisdom suggests private schools are better than public schools. However, recent studies are beginning to question whether than wisdom is correct.......here's one of them:

Public schools: Do they outperform private ones?

The conventional wisdom is that private schools are better than public. But a new study casts a bit of doubt on such assumptions.
