I see we've already rescued our wondering senators and have trucked them back to base. Looks like they only spent an hour or so in the field on the mountain. Over night would have been much nicer.

The standard Radar/fighter intercept program should take care of them. They are like the old German V missiles that the British shot down with Spitfires.

Some modern cruise missiles fly at supersonic or high subsonic speeds. Even the slower ones can get thru easily because they fly down on the surface to evade detection. Supposedly Iran has acquired cruise missiles from Iran capable of carrying nukes.

The nightmare scenario: a merchant ship 150 miles off our East Coast fires a couple nuclear cruise missiles to take out DC and NYC.
