The change will REAM the CDO holders, totally ream them with several new body orifices. Financial markets will take a massive hit.

This change will also immediately destroy what is left of the mortgage securitization markets.

That may help with making banks responsible with going-forward loans, but it is disastrous for the huge number of mortgage holders whose homeowners are upside down and may be able to declare BK.

I think the homeowner and the lender should share the pain of their stupidity. This plan, howevre, requires the mortgage holder (not necessarily the original lender), to bear the entire loss.
