talking about random topics... Anyone here pay AMT tax since 2004? it is a federal tax on upper middle class and up individuals. Accountants often mis-compute the true liability thus costing taxpayers unnecessary monies.

Even fixed income seniors or retirees have fallen into the AMT trap ... this may occur when they would sell a rental property or a vacation home in a given year and realize a big gain.

you know anyone in this category? let me know. afterall who wants to pay extra hundreds or thousands to the IRS

Nearly bought it on my motorcycle yesterday.

I was riding with a buddy who rides a Harley Road King. He was out front and I was behind a good distance (thankfully).

I noticed something dropped off his bike and began bouncing. Looked like it was going into the left lane and that was good. I throttled back, and it bounced right. Not good.

The thing, later found to be a 2 lb. highway peg, bounced up, right, up again...

I braked hard and locked up my rear wheel, starting a skid. I eased off the brake, stopping the skid, then braked again.

The chrome projectile bounced 10' in front of me into the ditch.

I was ok with everything, until I realized that if that thing had hit my leg, it'd be broken, and if it'd hit my front wheel, I'd have gone down at 60 mph.

Someone was looking over my shoulder yesteday.
