>> They probably do. <<

so, you admit to having no supporting data and still argue a point from total admitted ignorance. nice.*

you can't argue as though this is a zero sum game... if person a doesn't pay enough then someone else pays more...

that doesn't stick because we run something called deficits. you know, like 100s of billions in deficits with a $9 trillion debt.

the reason we do this is precisely because people *don't* pay their own way, they shirk it off on people not yet born.

it will eventually destroy this nation of narcissists, but we don't care b/c it will probably be destroyed after we've used up all we can... *if* we are lucky, anyway.

not to let facts kick you in the teeth,

* in 2001 the top 1% of americans owned 39.7% of american wealth.

sociology.ucsc.edu

The Top 1% of taxpayers pay 29% of all taxes (i also found a link that put it at ~35%). i just did a quick search in 90 seconds.

allegromedia.com

that's 39% of the wealth and 29% - 35% of the taxes.

oh, and the reason you don't care is b/c you care waaaaay to much about yourself and waaaaay to little about the people getting getting shafting.
