Ed - have you ever taken a look at Venoco Inc (VQ)? They have 99 MMBOE proved reserves (all NA,78% oil, 61% PD, reserve life 14.5 yrs) and sell for EV of $1.3 Billion. They are moving their assets to an upcoming IPO MLP (VAC).

I am not sure if it worth some considerations. But the stock has been beaten pretty badly. I'd appreciate if you can help to understand the rather complicated transactions (to me at least). Here is their most recent company presentation:

thanks to you both....another I like with high yield is VNR. currently yielding a little over 10% here, although with recent acquisition I expect the yield to shift upward from the current $1.70 annually to closer to $2 per unit.

I'm long both VNR/LINE and will most likely soon be long CEP as well.
