For thousands of years, the ME has either been controlled by a brutal empire or has been filled with wars and instability.

That's pretty much true of the whole world.

The current instability in the Middle East is a product of a calculated policy to weaken the region after the breakup of the Ottoman empire.

Are you kidding? The current instability of the ME is the result of the breakup of the Ottoman empire, which ruthlessly suppressed "instability" via techniques like genocide. For thousands of years, the ME has either been controlled by a brutal empire or has been filled with wars and instability.

Who the hell do you think you are kidding? The Ottoman Empire broke up nearly a century ago. Westerners have been playing in the ME sandbox since then.
