re: I find it far more likely that Intel and MS cooperated on a little deception. They both had great motivation to do so, Intel with its weak 915 chipset not being up to the task(what share of Intel's IGP chipsets does 915 represent?), and MS's pathetice sales rate of Vista up until now. They both need to sell every combo of the 2 they can.

You crystallized why this bothers me.

Two monopolists cooperating in a way that harms at least one competitor, not with price fixing, but with feature fixing. Is there really any difference?
