Some assistance perhaps, but for the most part they aren't eligible for assistance based on income. That's because they don't have a low income.

I guess the middle class really is shrinking. People making up to seventy or 80 thousand are so poor they should get SCHIP, and people making $150K or even $100K are rich and should have their taxes increased, not much room left to be middle class...
