Your position is bizarre. Identifying fatal flaws is, indeed, a contribution. Yes, redoing the study without the flaws would be a greater contribution. Perhaps they tried to get access to the data and were rebuffed. They're hardly in a position to recreate the data gathering done by WHO. That's an enormous job. But warning folks off from the flawed analysis avoids a lot of bad decisions based on that if not encouraging WHO to do better in the future. I think they're to be commended.
