So your asserting that labor force participation rates have decline to a great extent?

Uh??

You would need to look at full-time equivalent employment rate. If that is down, it is down, and so is effective employment. Has nothing to do with "great extent".

The figures for national unemployment rate are a little like the figures for inflation. The books are cooked.

Well, I learned one thing I had forgotten (or never knew). The labor force participation rate includes the unemployed looking for work. So, no, that is not an acceptable metric for very obvious reasons. Perhaps that is why you said "great extent" and I failed to understand that.

However, since LFPR includes all the unemployed looking for work, that is not a very useful metric for deciding if unemployment is up.
