There is no inconsistency in my argument. Just because I think the government should get out of the retirement business does not mean that I don't support other government programs that help those who are poor, homeless, and starving.

It is the obligation of government to preserve human life, not necessarily to enhance it. However, if we had a government that ran surpluses and not massive deficits, then the Government would have the opportunity to build more Museums of Natural History and Kennedy Centers in every city in this country to keep our young children off the streets and focused on what matters, Culture. By that I mean Art, as the picture of Truth, Music as the sound of Truth and Philosophy as the idea of Truth

Outside of making more Americans fiscally responsible, eliminating social security would have the added benefit of preventing pigs like President Bush from raiding those funds that people put their hard earned money into.

And yes, you are being extremely illogical.
