I agree totally.

OBama showed some serious vulnerability this week and frankly made some rookie mistakes. I am certain that the GOP has already dug deeply into Obama's past and is keeping quiet for now. Why should they show their hand at this early stage? All the best dirty hits work better at the last minute so there isn't time to "spin".

The GOP won't be as "nice" as the HIllary campaign and all the stops will be pulled out in a general election. The disappearance of dirty political tricks is a long way off on the horizon. It's only just begun!

Obama outspent Hillary 2:1 and still couldn't beat her with a press core that has been giving him a pass.

I truly think that the GOP simply wants the Democratic race to continue so the party ends up fractured into two camps with one side disheartened.

FOX TV in particular has ben giving Obama a pass. I find that quite telling in who the GOP wants to win the DEm nomination. The CLinton's have beat the pants off the GOP for years and the last thing they want is them back in power.

JOhn MC Cain will get his ceremonial and obligatory Bush endorsement out of the way and will begin to distance himself from the administration ( if he is smart and I think he probably is ).

In addition, the attacks on Hillary are same-o (sp?), same-o. People have heard this stuff for years and it doesn't carry the weight it once did. Obama, however, is a new punching bag. If he's the candidate, the Limbaughs of the world will rip the bark off him in record time..

Kate, do you think that when they get all the "bark" off him his negatives will be as low as Hillary's?

In other words, do you think they'll be as successful painting him with what little they might find as they were with Independents, Republicans and others using the mountains of grist that Bill and Hillary gave them and considering all the years they've employed it?

I can't see it.

Winning a little less than half the faithful in the Democratic primaries won't help her much in the general election. What's worse, even though I'm diametrically opposed to McCain's foreign policies and the appointment of his "conservative" judges and I'll vote against him, I like him better than Hillary in terms of character and ethics and all she would get from me is my vote. I think a lot of us are like that after watching her at her scorched earth work in this primary. Ed

Even the most ardent followers know in their heart of hearts that the republican ideals as espoused by talk radio has not worked out.

Plenty of ideas on the right and left haven't worked out. Many others haven't been tried.

Obama, however, is a new punching bag. If he's the candidate, the Limbaughs of the world will rip the bark off him in record time.

Just like the Dems attack Bush, and now McCain, and previously other Republican presidents or candidates. Its not like slinging mud is a one sided thing. Attacks, some accurate, some questionable, some totally unsubstantiated, come from all over in the political game.
