Kate, do you think that when they get all the "bark" off him his negatives will be as low as Hillary's? I have no idea and it would be foolish to even guess. I do think he showed very poor judgment with the Rezko thing and has put himself in an incredible position of vulnerability. There's as much fodder here for the right-wingers as there was with Whitewater and the Clintons. Actually, there's more because the Clintons lost money on their deal, whereas the Obamas benefited financially. mountains of grist that Bill and Hillary gave them and considering all the years they've employed it? My guess here is that a re-hashing of it won't resonate like it once did. Keep in mind that Gore won the popular vote and would have won FLA, perhaps, but for Nader and voting snafus, and that was at a time when the Clinton saga was fresher, less disproved, and the thorough incompetence of the Rep Party wasn't known. My sense of things, reflected in the huge primary turnouts, is that Dems will coalesce to take back the White House. They are angry and worried and won't let a re-hashing of the Clinton stuff stop them at the polls. like him better than Hillary in terms of character and ethics and all she would get from me is my vote. I think a lot of us are like that after watching her at her scorched earth work in this primary. Ed I don't share this assessment of her. Apparently half the primary goers doesn't either in spite of the negative media barrage against her. And I sure don't see a scorched earth campaign at work.
