As for pleasing customers, you see more of that from companies that are selling non-essential and somewhat homogeneous
products where schmoozing the customer might seal the deal.

With regard to healthcare, the product is somewhat homogeneous so an insurer might try to differentiate itself through a little schmoozing. But the product is essential and once a policy is sold, the buyer is pretty captive to the whims of the insurer.
