Agree for the long term, disagree as to the short term.

I will re-enter DBA in low 30s, having monetized profits. And if not, I won't.

Opportunities are everywhere, this one has temporarily run out of steam, as all things which appreciate too quickly generally do.

I tend to agree with you regarding DBA. It is a longer term theme with me and we are investing in that thesis, not the momentum idea that had driven DBA since the beginning of the year.

I did sell DBA once last year, only to reenter in August. I forgot I had done that, but I am still at 52% since that date and will hold through this. DBA has become too well covered on the internet and many are buying without knowing what the ETF really does. I am also holding MOO and COW, although I wish they did not have the cute names. I think that attracts the wrong kind of investor/speculator.

You and I were both in the Pimco commodity real return fund very early as well. Do you remember the problem they had with the commodity swaps they traded minute by minute? The fund suffered for a while but I only sold the position in my current account and held the one in my IRA. I have well over a 100% return in that one based on reinvested divis. It is a nightmare for taxable accounts with that 600-800% turnover. I am not embarassed to say I like the tips bond underpinning.
