. Kerry was/is an elitist a$$hole who thinks he is smarter than everyone else,

Not a comment on Kerry really, but I have no idea when we as a nation started voting for people "just like joe schmo who lives next door". Its a recipe for disaster as we have seen. Vote for average leaders, get average results, or less in this case.

Bill Clinton was someone of high intellectual capacity who could successfully talk to the masses. So it can be done.

Bush doesn't realize he served two terms because of who he was running against. The Democrats gave him the White House both times by putting up unelectable candidates.

I would concur with that. I actually voted for McCain back in 2000, but Bush won the primary.. and I just couldn't see voting for Gore.

I just hope McCain has the moxy, and the flexibility, to present ideas that will get us through the likely tough times we face over the next couple of years.

It going to take some creative thinking to avoid a total meltdown of the real-estate and financial markets, not just in the US, but in Europe, Japan, and China..

You see.. I perceive a threat to all national governments by the "supra-national" entities who seek to undermine national sovereignties and force governments to unify.. Maybe it's conspiracy theory thinking, but there are too many billionaires out there who perceive themselves as "world federalists".. And I'm a bit concerned..

The reality is that it is NOT just the US that faces a serious problem with its real-estate and financial systems. We've seen tremendous appreciation of real-estate in all of the leading economies.
