What do gun owners do to prevent criminals or law-abiders who break the law from getting guns?

From getting guns, nothing. However, they can defend themselves against criminals.

Somewhere along the line that law-abider becomes a criminal when he sells the gun/s to criminals or law-abiders who will become criminals... What do gun owners and the NRA do to prevent that from happening?

Ignoring that crminals steal some of their weapons, cars, trucks, knives, etc are sold to criminals too. You want to restrict the right of the law-abiding to own those too?

The NRA is fighting like hell to prevent a law that would require a gun to leave an identifying mark on the shell casing when it is fired so that the casing can be matched to the gun. Why are you against this?

We can already match bullets to the gun fired from and this is done all the time. Why bother to match shell casings? This doesn't make any sense.
