About 70 percent of voters rejected the tunnel proposal

it would be a huge mistake to replace the elevated with an elevated from several perspectives. Nickels knows that.....hence his position

His elitist view over rides and delays the project while voters disagreed with greg five cents by 70% - yet he's the one with the "right" plan.

Elitist hardly.......from an economic standpoint, putting the damn thing underground makes perfectly good sense.....frees up land not only for a park but for new development sites downtown.....improving city revenues. It will cause increased development along the wharfs because tourists will have easier access...again improving revenues. Finally, it will reduce pollutants downtown.

Only uninformed people would encourage replacement of the elevated highway....something that goes against what almost every major city in the world has done in the last 25 years. Not that I am surprised...........you voted for Bush twice.

Still nothing has been done and it's all on hold because of greg five cents not getting the job done.

They are trying to come up with the money.....not an easy thing in these times with a bankrupt fed. gov't thanks to you know who. Why don't you write some of your GOP leaders and tell them to get their act together.
