Although there are redundant rows in caches, redundancy is very rare on array columns. You might fix a bad row, but columns usually require loss of the array.

Have you ever designed memory? Have you ever done competitive
and IP analysis on memory structures in other people's chips? I have
done both for many years and I say you don't have the slightest clue
what you are talking about.

Pete, I didn't say it couldn't be done, I said it was impractical. As with most things, this is not worth the trouble of explaining it to you. Stick to measuring average die size.
