Pat, your concerns resonate with me. I think Obama's church is racist. I voted for him on the first Florida primary, but I am not sure how I will vote the second time -- if any.

>>What concerns me about Obama right now is the unwillingness of many to talk about his faults.....and we all have faults. Everytime something gets mentioned that can remotely be interpreted as a racial slur it gets labeled as such.<<

Patricia -

I don't see why anyone feels they can't talk about Obama's faults. He can be, and has been, criticized for some legitimate reasons.

While the intent of Geraldine Ferraro's recent statements, or Bill Clinton's dismissal of Obama's primary victory in South Carolina, may not have been racist, the statements do come uncomfortably close to the line.

Has anyone been accused of being racist for attacking Obama on the basis of his level of experience, his record in the Senate and the Illinois state legislature, or his policy proposals? I don't think so.

I agree that some people look for racism everywhere, and that they often find it where it doesn't really exist, or at least, where it doesn't exist to the extent they may think it does.

- Allen

Pat an informative post and it certainly lets everyone get to know you better and what a kind generous person you are. It also
is illuminating in terms of your concern about Obama and his church..
