People are looking to deleverage rather than add leverage - period.

I might go back to SRS and SKF if they go down, but in view of the fact that the Fed has indicated unambiguously that it is not going to let the financials go down in flames, I think it is very hazardous to fight the Fed.

The $200bn operation was serious business, particularly as it had the BOJ and and the ECB behind it. I think we are seeing a world wide consensus among central bankers that they must act decisively to prevent financial meltdown. That is going to put the bears and the ultrashorts at risk.

One thing is for sure, whatever operations the CBs engage in will absolutely, positively help the Swissie, Yen and gold, so that is where I am at present. A lot less potential return traded for more safety and certainty.
