Good post. This period is very much like the 80's, high commodity prices doom and gloom associated with chaos on all fronts......and yet by 84 it was clear that all of our systems were in the process of re engineering. You should be aware of what happened in the subsequent years. Post Vietnam the seeds were converted from application of war, to civilian systems, and much of what we take for granted in the hear and now, was directly extrapolated from Vietnam era R&D.

I for one see how complete the era of the 80 and 90 is being overturned. Everything is on the verge of changing and many commodities will be profoundly affected by the emergence of replacements.

Right now material science is generating the most interest on a fundamental basis. To get better we need to retool seeking all the features lacking and inefficient of the era we are leaving. Stronger, lighter, faster, more energy efficient etc etc...

So much of what we see in the markets now, is the disguise applied to rotation.......money already knows where it wants to go, its telegraphed everyday, to anyone with better eyes.
