Yeah John - no big deal. GD the US - simply a slip of the toungue. I am done with this. My point has been made y'all helped me make it. Let's watch Obama on TV on MSNBC at 8. It will be interesting to see how y'all react to the next Republican faux pas. I am sure you will be understanding as - after all - what ever it is it will not be as bad as the KKK.

Think about this - the defense is that Wright is not as bad as the KKK!

Thanks

Rev. Wright is 67 years old, which means he grew up during the most passionate and activist years for blacks. It makes some sense to me that Obama could listen to him, recognize and respect the historical anger and the old time rhetoric for what it was, while choosing not to see it as relevant any longer.

Still, while I agree with the kind admiring comments of you and Syb, it does seem odd that anyone with the political ambitions and astuteness of Obama wouldn't have foreseen the havoc this minister might wreak in a vicious campaign.

I've been watching some of the coverage and the networks are giving it a lot of gleeful play. Fred, Mort, and CHarles K. were shaking their heads mournfully over the horror of it all. CHarles K's big point was that this wasn't Uncle Joe; we can't choose our families, but we do choose our friends and spritual advisors.

Shoot, just noticed it's half past Olbermann... have I missed O?
