My story is actually one of the reasons I don't support the draft. Not having the draft leaves open the possibility that any young kid, from just about any place in America can join up and better him or herself if they choose.

My father volunteered as he was being drafted. His brothers were drafted or did the same as pop. With a couple of exceptions, many of my cousins were drafted.
I enlisted in Feb 62, just before the draft caught me.

The US Military cannot meet today's deployment schedule with the troops on hand.

How would you fix that?
