That's a good point John. However, most of services offer training, classes and things of that nature to help kids catch up. In many cases, they need those skills in the Military. Also, quite a few programs exist that tap into the Junior College system. After four years, they've been given the tools and opportunity for improvement if they want to take it.

It's a bit more of a helping yourself up approach, instead of accepting mediocrity. Lastly, I wouldn't want military people at colleges stigmatized by the faculty for being given an easy ride.
