And,

you don't mind saying this on a public forum?

Kinda glad I skipped breakfast.

Back then we were only 7 million by the way.

And everybody dined on "Ärtsoppa med fläsk" and "Pannkakor" after that. The immigrants may not all have opted for the old Swedish habits as I wanted to express by my mail.

Incidentally, the Danes in their (inferior) version of the Swedish pea soup recipe serve the pork on the side, which may be more acceptable to many of the immigrants.

Inferior because they use peeled peas while the Swedes use unpeeled yellow peas, which let the peas remain intact as opposed to that mashy Danish result.

But the again, those Danes always have been very considerate towards the immigrants.

Went on a business trip to Sweden 110 miles North of Gothenburg just 2 weeks ago. That was a Thursday and we were invited for lunch by our customer: They served - Swedish yellow pea soup with pork and pancakes after that!!! My first in something like 40 years.

Memories and nostalgic such indeed.
