I believe in an open discussion of race but i also believe in no double standards. Wright was off the wall with his comments but as nick kristof points out today 30% of the black community believes that aids was created by the govt to kill black people. They also believe drugs are sold to black people to keep them quiet and passive.
The historical blot of slavery and jim crowe will always be with us but today in 2008 we all need to be on the same page regarding this crazy stuff. Liberals are always telling evangys this re; abortion, life, creationsim, science etc. Black folks need to be told this too when it comes to some of these bizarre theories. Farrakan has his spaceship and wright has his illusions and false beliefs but its not acceptable to give them a pass because they are black and because of US history or because in other areas they do good work.

Thousands of African-Americans sang hymns on trains to Chicago. They would stop their watches as they passed the Mason-Dixon line, and bring their church sensibilities with them.

Wow, I have no idea what this person means. I thought the Mason-Dixon Line was sort of between Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Why would they "stop their watches"?
