I'm very long SNDK, watching it plummet most every day. Each big price drop I find myself perusing the company financials to make sure I'm not missing something. I don't think I am. While short term it could certainly plummet more, long term demand will force the stock price up big time. The company is just too solid for this not to happen. The present #20 (and change) price will seem astonishingly low. With the present ongoing spurt of bad news, it's just that fear is totally setting the price agenda. In the way that Wall Street always works, down the road, greed will have its day, and SNDK stock will soar. Anyway, that's my gut feeling.

Best, Mark

Re: Warnings by Intel and Toshiba. Remember that Toshiba noted expected losses from stopping production of its HD-DVD equipment but did not mention any specific changes in outlook for NAND flash. SanDisk and Toshiba share costs of NAND production, but SanDisk also sells NAND flash in more retail settings than does Toshiba. So the margins for SanDisk are likely to be better than for its competitors, and even for Toshiba.

That said, we know that competitors are hurting worse than SNDK. It's just a question of time before someone with higher costs than SNDK decides to throw in the towel.
