The problem is that a "reconciliation" is not something that can be forced. That is one reason why timetables do not make sense IMO. For better or worse the US is there now and the US needs to fix what broke before leaving...... J.

Hi Max -- I'm really glad to see you post over here, and I wish others would chime in also. The upcoming election (and the current democraticprimary) is very important to the future of our country, and I would like to see more intelligent discussion and analysis by thoughtful members of kitchen. I make no secret that I am partisan -- I am an UnRepublican who feels that conservative policies are not in the best interests of the country, and that they are often predicated on deliberate misinformation. I have no trouble debating those things with thoughtful conservatives, but the internet is so infected by right-wing provocateurs like jllalen and shortnlong who just shout down opposing opinions with personal slurs and assertions of righteous and superior morality that it's difficult to have any discussion at all. It's tempting to not bother engaging in any of this on the stock boards, however conservatives consistently crow over their political opinions and gratuitously shove then down others' throats as if they were God-given facts. After 25 years of it, I'm sick of hearing it, especially when those policies have been so throughly discredited in the last 7 1/2 years. Well, I would sure like to see more people post here.
