Mary -

We've been back and forth on this a number of times. I just don't see how Hillary Clinton has some kind of immunity against smear attacks, either.

Yes, Hillary has been smeared already, for many years. The result has been that she has a high negative rating and a lot of people are dead set against her. That doesn't seem like a plus to me.

Sure, Obama will be (and is already being, in my opinion) smeared in the general election if he wins the nomination. But Clinton will be smeared as well. They'll bring up all the crap from the past, and come up with new stuff.
