I think we can expect to see US and civilian casualties increase over the next few months as Al Quaida makes its last stand in Iraq....it is unfortunate but true.....they are fighting with their backs to the wall now...and it is clear they are losing....a cornered rat is at its most vicious... Didn't Cheney say they were making their "last stand" a year or two ago? Are the Sunnis making their last stand as well? How 'bout the Shia?

The surge is over..........this has happened at least two times in the past. The US will try a new approach....it will meet with some success.......the insurgency morphs and the new approach goes to hell in a handbasket. Only difference this time is the surge lasted a little longer that the other 'new approaches'. But even if the surge was still going strong.....we can't afford it. The war is coming to end real soon.
