Yes, great news for NJMC. I think it's a combination of NEM being interested in smaller deposits than 5 million oz and the larger potential of NJMC's holdings than indicated by its tiny market cap.

A future takeover wouldn't surprise me at all. Watch the news when Newmont gets going on the exploration program.

I believe NEM announced they were needing to seek out smaller deposits than they used to. This would be a significant shift in the big-company mentality and an announcement that (as we all know) 10M ounce mega-deposits are few and far between and getting scarcer. Let the M&A begin!
