What do you mean by After 2010, all licencees fall back into the same boat

Are you suggesting that after 2010 *everybody* has a paid up license for some of Qualcomm's patents?

The real issue needing negotiation is 4G and that discussion seems to be nothing but non existent.

Not to mention that the direction it is heading is nothing but non obvious too...

Isn't it disingenuous of Nokia to negotiate a "perpetual" agreement based upon a one or two year reality?

Perhaps. Perhaps it is only slightly less disingenuous of Qualcomm to negotiate a long term agreement in '07 based on a 3 year reality?

"Disingenuous" may not really be the right word.

In reality, we can negotiate whatever we want. What if I was to suddenly acquire temporary rights to all of the oxygen on the planet, with the capacity of (chemically enforceable) injunctive relief.

You and I could then negotiate a lifetime license, where you pay me a low-low fee every year for the rest of your life. I wouldn't need my rights to last as long as your life, just a little bit longer than you can afford to hold your breath.

Extortion, maybe, but not disingenuous.
