Week before last, I saw a poll done by Time in which 30% of Dems said they wouldn't vote for Obama. No mention of whether they would vote for McCain or just not vote at all.

I read it in Time magazine, and I couldn't determine from it if the poll had been done before or after the Wright flap. I couldn't determine it because the writer of the article simply referenced the poll result. He didn't give the actual poll, and I didn't try to cross-check.

The number of Obama supporters who wouldn't vote for Hillary was surprisingly low.....11% comes to mind.

Hopefully, someone will do a poll and ask why of each person polled. Hopefully, the DNC is doing some such internal polling on its own right now.

Right or wrong, the Wright flap impacts those voters who have a strong, traditional church life. Most voters keep things simple, and such a church-going Democrat is likely to have a mind that just snaps shut, and no amount of spin is going to change their opinion on that particular subject.

Such a voter will have to compartmentalize his thinking and do a Ben Franklin close on Obama to get back in the fold.
