"People are using credit cards as their cushion. We're set up for a consumer credit-card debt crisis if we do nothing." and WHAT must WE do?? who is WE? gov't??? read: taxpayer even when politicians come remotely close to correctly describing the problems, they come up with exactly the wrong 'solution' damn scary $h@t when they go into 'must fix' mode "over the long term, the government involvement would be self-financing." lol....who IS she trying to kid? this will eventually turn out to be one of the most threatening (to the taxpayer pocketbook) election cycles we will have ever witnessed, there seems to be no end to the taxpayer funded schemes they will come up with...and as is the norm, when 'government' hands out subsidies, SOMEBODY pays....if you are not one of the 'distressed' borrowers.....a target is being drawn on your back
